Afra Al Suwaidi’s practice is rooted in fine arts, exploring themes of memory, identity, and transformation through mixed media and
printmaking. Her work often reflects a deep engagement with materiality, layering textures and forms to evoke personal and collective narratives.
She has exhibited internationally at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center in New York (2015), the Lessedra World Art Print Annual in Bulgaria (2015), and Imago Mundi in Italy (2017). More recently, she participated in Abu Dhabi Art’s Beyond: Emerging Artists program in London.
Locally, Al Suwaidi has showcased her work at the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s Do Art Do It Now (2017), the Emirates Fine Arts Society’s Annual Exhibition (2018, 2021), and the Cultural Foundation Art Residency (2020). Her work has also been featured in exhibitions at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Bait15, and Aisha Alabbar Art Gallery in Dubai.
