Jorge Rosano Gamboa is a visual artist based in Mexico City whose work unfolds
from photographic thinking into painting, sculpture, and installation. His practice
centers on the relationship between the instant and its representation-exploring
the ritual of image-making, its documentation, and the lingering presence of
memory. Through constructed and manipulated spaces, his work reveals
absence, where image and ghost become one. Rooted in the richness of
Mexican and Latin American culture, his recent projects draw from folklore,
magical thinking, and poetic traditions. He holds a B.A. from La Esmeralda and
an M.F.A. from SOMA. Gamboa has held solo exhibitions in Mexico City, Berlin,
London, and is slated for upcoming shows in Paris and Tokyo. His work has been
featured in major group exhibitions and international art fairs in Mexico, Korea,
Spain, and France. He has participated in several residencies, including Casa
Wabi, Neurotitan (Berlin), and 18th Street (USA).
